Revival of River Kousika

Historically and archeologically significant areas surveyed with field experts and student volunteers, through which extensive varieties of artefacts were discovered. Through carbon dating the Kousika river civilization was proved to be at least 2000 years old.
Hydrological and Paleontological significance of the river was established through semi fossils discovered in the river bed which has been accepted to be at least 10,000 years old. Literary evidences commemorating the river’s wild flow was discovered through words of Arnagirinathar’s Thruppugazh which is centuries old.
Instrumental in attaching Kousika river to Athikadavu Avinashi groundwater recharge scheme and reviving 20+ checkdams of the river.
